College student studying animation. Working to be a sequential artist, hoping to make it in the comic industry. I'm more of a traditional artist, I work a lot with watercolours, though I'm trying to get better at digital colouring. You can check out my pieces in my art tag to the left.
I previously made AMVs under the same username on YouTube, though my vidding days are currently on hiatus.
mcstack said: Have you ever read any of the current volume of the Flash? It was my first real introduction to the character after being a Wally West-Flash fan and it’s done a lot to endear the character to me. And your work reminds me a lot of Manapul’s.
I have not, but I would really love to, I see tumblr posts of it often enough for it to have piqued my interest and Manapul on the Flash books has always been a joy to look at. The way he draws Axel Walker is the best.
My work reminds you of Francis Manapul’s though? That is literally THE coolest compliment I think I’ve ever gotten.
I want to believe that I’m just misinterpreting what DC Women Kicking Ass is saying here and that they’re not suggesting that actors who don’t have a whole lot of experience/IMDB credit can’t be good, but that’s sure what it looks like. Which is very disappointing.
You don’t have to like the Wonder Woman casting. You don’t have to like Gal Gadot. You don’t have to like that they cast an unknown in such an iconic, incredible role. But “Short IMDB page = not a very good actress” is a terrible message to be sending out into the world. The film industry isn’t really a meritocracy, and that line of thinking can be really damaging to aspiring actors who aren’t getting roles because they don’t fit a particular type — one that Gal Gadot does fit to a large degree, but one that not every incredibly talented person does.
Again, I’m willing to give DC Women Kicking Ass the benefit of the doubt, as I’m sure they’ll have a more thought-out response to the casting once the hubub dies down. But this worries me. It worries me a lot.
Edit: Ahahah NOPE.
Yeah, fuck it. This is absolute bullshit.
I am currently watching this play out in real time and quickly remembering why I unfollowed this person on tumblr about a year ago.
MORE LIKE DC WOMEN… KISS MY ASS
sorry i just… I hate dcwomenkicknass. a lot.
I had no idea who Henry Cavil was before Man of Steel. Also how you gonna talk shit about new blood playing a big part when Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston are two of the biggest stars in the world right now when no one knew who the hell they were before Thor came out?
what the fuck
woWWW, the absolute hypocrisy. a feminist blog dismissing an aspiring actress based on the length of her imdb entry? you would think that they of all people would be more supportive.
oh and another talented, and previously lesser known actress? RINKO KIKUCHI and she’s fantastic. actresses can’t be “proven good” unless given the chance.
Am I the only one familiar with Gal Gadot? I was flippin in LOVE with her character in the last few Fast&Furious films.
Disappointed in DCWomenKickingass again. We should be celebrating the fact that we’re getting a Wonder Woman (though DC should really contemplate a better film title) AND she’s played by a POC actress, who could benefit from this role and exposure. It’s kind of cool to choose someone who hasn’t already made it big in the industry. This could lead to good things yo.
So I was practicing my Typography while listening to a long YT video of epic speeches and the like and now sort of want to finish this off and make it my project. No epic speech, just this silly little bit here. Heh. (hits the one minute mark too!)
It would be a little awkward to present though, at least for those who haven’t seen the show/ep.
I mean, the first half of the audio is about fleas and bees doin’ the do.
